WHO IS IT FOR

Who needs an independent Odoo audit?

The audit is for leadership teams who want to objectively assess the state of their Odoo before making a decision. Verify the quality of existing work, regain visibility over years of accumulated developments, or prepare a major investment.

Verify partner quality icon

You want to verify the quality of your current partner's work

Your Odoo works, but you have no way of knowing whether what was delivered meets standards, is maintainable, and can evolve. The audit gives a factual answer.

Accumulated developments icon

You've accumulated developments without an overall picture

Custom modules have been added over projects, by different providers or in-house. Nobody knows exactly what's running, what's still used, or what will block the next migration.

Major change investment icon

You're considering a major change or investment

Version migration, partner change, new module rollout: the audit gives you the data foundation to estimate costs and plan accurately.

WHY AUDIT

Why should you audit your Odoo?

An Odoo audit measures the gap between what your system could deliver and what it actually delivers. It quantifies that gap in lost workdays, uncovered risks, and paid-for but unused features. The decision to correct, stabilise, or change approach comes after, data in hand.

Business processes work around the tool

Recurring Excel exports, re-entries between modules, parallel processes maintained "because it works better that way." Each workaround is a recurring cost and an untracked error risk.

A common workaround: sales teams export sales data into Excel to produce their reports instead of using Odoo dashboards. The audit maps each workaround, assesses its cost in hours per week, and identifies whether it stems from a configuration issue, a training gap, or a missing development.

Maintenance costs have skyrocketed

Every request generates a separate quote. No visibility on what counts as a fix, an enhancement, or accumulated technical debt. The maintenance budget grows without the system visibly improving.

The audit classifies existing custom code into three categories: code conforming to Odoo standards (to keep), functional code with technical debt (to refactor), obsolete or standard-redundant code (to remove). This classification provides an objective basis for evaluating maintenance costs, whether with your current provider or a new one.

The system no longer meets all business needs

Processes have evolved, new departments use the tool, but the configuration hasn't kept up. Teams end up with an Odoo that matches the needs of three years ago.

The audit identifies the gaps between the current configuration and your teams' actual processes. It distinguishes what can be fixed with a configuration adjustment (a few hours) from what requires development or a workflow redesign. Most often, standard Odoo features already exist to cover the need — they simply were never activated.

Developments have accumulated over the years

Multiple providers, internal developers, successive projects: custom code has piled up without documentation, without tests, and sometimes contradicting Odoo's standard. Nobody has the complete map.

The code analysis reviews each custom module: structure, Odoo API conformity, test coverage, inter-module dependencies, and compatibility with the target version for migration. The report distinguishes value-added code (specific to your business) from code that duplicates or contradicts Odoo's standard. This is the basis for deciding what to keep, what to rewrite, and what to remove.

Infrastructure has never been reviewed

Server sizing, backup policy, response times under load: nobody has checked whether the initial configuration still holds with the current volume of data and users.

The infrastructure audit measures response times on critical operations (order opening, report generation, accounting close), verifies CPU/RAM/storage sizing against actual load, and audits the backup policy (frequency, retention, restore testing). Each gap is quantified with a costed recommendation.

A version migration is on the horizon

You don't know what effort the upgrade to the next version represents, nor which custom developments will need rewriting.

The audit evaluates the compatibility of each custom module with the target version, estimates the migration effort in days per module, and identifies standard features in the new version that could replace existing custom code. This estimate is the basis for a realistic migration quote.

THE PROCESS

How does an Odoo audit work?

The audit runs in three phases. Duration depends on the size of your instance and the scope selected. The exact scope (number of workshops, depth of technical analysis, additional modules) is defined together at launch, based on your situation and priorities. Each phase produces an intermediate deliverable.

1

Workshops with your key users

Structured sessions department by department. Current processes, pain points, workarounds, unmet needs. The number of sessions adapts to your scope and team size.

Led by a functional consultant. Covers critical business flows, existing workarounds, gaps between configuration and actual use, and installed but unused Odoo features. Deliverable: annotated functional map with gaps by department.
2

Technical and infrastructure analysis

Automated code review module by module, complemented by manual analysis of critical developments. In parallel: hosting audit, response times, and backup policy.

Automated scoring per module: code quality (structure, naming, tests), Odoo API conformity (ORM conventions, proper inheritance), and security (access rights, input validation). Manual analysis focuses on high-risk modules.
3

Restitution and action plan

Report presented in a meeting with your leadership and key users. Scoring by domain (0-100), factual findings with business impact, and an action plan estimated in days.

Includes: radar chart of scores, effort/impact matrix, global budget estimate for stabilisation, and risk analysis. Every finding cites its source (log, code, workshop, measurement). Urgent corrections (days) vs structural projects (weeks). Format: interactive HTML report with tab navigation + PDF export.

DELIVERABLES

What does the Odoo audit report contain?

The audit produces four immediately actionable deliverables, presented and discussed during the restitution meeting. Each serves a different purpose: understand the current state, prioritise actions, and estimate investment.

01

Scoring by domain

Functional, technical, infrastructure, security. Each domain receives a score of 0 to 100 and a priority level (critical, important, normal). Scoring allows comparing domains and tracking progress over time.

Scoring is based on objective, weighted criteria, defined by domain. Each score is accompanied by the raw metrics that compose it. The visual radar provides an at-a-glance overview.
02

Functional map

What your teams use, what they work around, what they don't know about. Module by module, the map shows the gap between your licence's potential and actual usage.

Each feature is classified into four statuses: correctly used, partially used, worked around (with estimated workaround cost in hours/week), or not activated. Identifies installed but unused modules, and standard features that could replace custom code. Basis for a targeted training plan for your key users.
03

Prioritised action plan

Each recommendation is estimated in days, ranked by return on investment, and categorised (urgent fix, improvement, optimisation, training). The plan reads like an actionable backlog.

Four-quadrant effort/impact matrix. Quick wins (low effort, high impact) come first. Each line: identified problem, estimated business impact, recommended action, effort in days, and dependencies. Delivered as spreadsheet alongside the report for easy implementation tracking.
04

Risk analysis

Critical points identified during the audit, with their probability, impact, and recommended mitigation measures. Access security, data integrity, service continuity.

Covers: user access rights (separation of duties, shared admin accounts), backup policy (frequency, restore testing, retention), critical dependencies (custom modules without a maintainer, undocumented third-party integrations), and custom code vulnerabilities. Each risk classified as high, medium, or low criticality.

WHAT COMES NEXT

From audit to stabilisation of your Odoo

During the audit, we spend several days in your instance, your processes, with your teams. This knowledge has concrete value: when stabilisation starts, there is no rediscovery phase, no briefing to redo. We already know what's blocking, why, and in what order to address it.

Stabilisation follows the audit's action plan. Phase 1: urgent corrections (configuration fixes, critical bugs, standard feature activation) within the first days. Phase 2: code cleanup (remove obsolete modules, refactor what's kept, replace custom with standard where possible) over weeks. Phase 3: training and documentation for key users on underused features. Stabilisation is billed on time spent, based on the day estimates in the report. Each phase is estimated, tracked, and validated with your team before moving to the next.
1

Priority corrections

Configuration fixes, standard feature activation, urgent bug resolution. The quick wins from the action plan, delivered first.

2

Code cleanup

Removal of obsolete custom code, refactoring of modules to keep, replacement with Odoo standard where possible.

3

Training & documentation

Targeted sessions on underused features, updated documentation. Your Odoo becomes mastered and ready to evolve.

If the situation involves a partner change, the audit and stabilisation form the foundation for the transition. The complete mapping of your instance is already done, priorities are set, your teams know us. The transfer happens without interruption and without knowledge loss.

Once stabilised, some companies choose to manage their Odoo independently. Others prefer ongoing support for functional evolutions, support, or version upgrades. The Evolution Contract exists for that, with no minimum commitment. It's a discussion we have after stabilisation, not before.

ADDITIONAL MODULES

Additional audit modules for your Odoo

The audit core covers code, infrastructure, and business processes. Depending on your situation, additional modules can be added. They are quoted separately and activated on demand.

Performance audit

Load testing on critical operations, bottleneck identification (slow queries, missing indexes, oversized crons), optimisation recommendations with estimated gains.

Includes benchmarks on the most-used operations: order opening, report generation, period closing, imports/exports. Each bottleneck comes with a technical recommendation and an estimated gain in seconds or percentage.

Security audit

Access rights review, security rules (groups, record rules), privileged accounts, and authentication practices.

Checks role separation, shared technical accounts, default passwords, access rules for sensitive data (contacts, prices, salaries), and exposed APIs. Proposes a remediation plan ranked by criticality.

Integration audit

Mapping of flows between Odoo and your third-party systems (e-commerce, WMS, EDI, accounting, BI). Exchange reliability, error handling, connector documentation.

Covers inbound and outbound flows, synchronisation mechanisms (real-time, batch, queue), error and rejection handling, exchange traceability, and connector technical documentation. Each integration receives a reliability and maintainability score.

CASE STUDY

Independent Odoo audit: a real case

BELGIAN INDUSTRIAL SME — B2B E-COMMERCE

Odoo 18, ~30 users, instance deployed by another integrator. B2B online sales platform with significant custom developments accumulated over several years.

Context

The system worked but teams had developed workarounds (Excel exports for reporting, double entry between modules). Maintenance costs were increasing quarter after quarter without visibility on their composition. The company was looking for a partner with deep technical expertise to regain control.

The audit covered

Custom code analysis module by module (automated scan + manual review by a senior technical architect), hosting configuration and performance review, and functional workshops with key users from key departments.

Result

A structured report across four domains with scoring, a prioritised stabilisation plan, and the identification of standard Odoo features capable of replacing several custom developments. The company chose to continue with Eezee for stabilisation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Odoo audit

The budget depends on the scope. A core audit (code, infrastructure, business processes) represents 5 to 7 days of senior consultancy, a range of 5,000 to 8,000 EUR including coordination. Additional modules (performance, security, integrations) are quoted separately, usually 1 to 2 days each. We send a detailed quote after an initial discussion of your situation, with the exact scope, number of days per profile, and expected deliverables.

Two to three weeks between launch and report delivery. Business workshops are scheduled over one to two weeks depending on the number of departments to cover. Technical analysis and report writing proceed in parallel. Restitution takes place in a dedicated meeting with your leadership and key users. The timeline adapts to your teams' availability.

This is a frequent situation, and it doesn't block anything. To get started, we need three things: access to the Odoo.sh project (or hosting server), access to the code repository (GitLab, GitHub, or other), and a recent database. If your current provider holds these accesses, we guide you through the recovery process. Your code and data belong to you contractually.

The audit measures the state of your system. What works well is documented and acknowledged. The report belongs to you. If the conclusion is that your Odoo is healthy and well maintained, the report says so. Every finding is factual, quantified, and accompanied by its source (log, code, measurement, workshop). Independence is in the method: we report what we find, including what's good.

No. The audit requires no interruption to your business. Workshops engage your key users for one hour per session, on a schedule that adapts to their agenda. Technical analysis is performed on a copy of your database and source code. Your teams work normally throughout the entire audit.

Yes, it's one of the most important components. Every custom module installed on your instance is analysed: code quality, conformity to Odoo standards and APIs, test coverage, access security. The report classifies each module into three categories: code to keep (conforming, useful, maintainable), code to refactor (functional with technical debt), and code to replace with standard. Standard modules are also checked: configuration and actual usage.

We remain your point of contact. If you want to launch stabilisation, we establish a schedule and quote based on the audit's action plan. The knowledge gained during workshops and technical analysis allows us to start immediately, without a rediscovery phase. Most of our clients start stabilisation within weeks of the restitution.

In Wallonia, the Digital Maturity Voucher (Chèque Maturité Numérique) can cover up to 50% of the cost of a digital diagnostic for SMEs. Other regional schemes exist in Flanders and Brussels. We can direct you to the relevant agencies and provide the necessary documents (detailed quote, scope description, deliverables). Check your eligibility with SPW Économie.
